The Cervical Screening Information System (CSIS) is a computerised central registry for storing all the data related to cervical cancer screening, including demographic data, smear results and follow-up investigations. The CSIS will also support sending reminder letters to women who are due for screening.

Functions of cervical cancer screening registry:

1. Recruit eligible women in the population

2. Maintain smear test results and screening related information

3. Send reminders to women whose cervical smear is due

4. Facilitate timely follow-up, treatment and re-screening

5. Provide data to support quality assurance

6. Facilitate sharing of smear results among relevant health care providers for better patient care

7. Track utilisation

8. Evaluate overall programme coverage

9. Support epidemiologic and/or service-related research
