of Health. The Cervical Screening Programme helps protect you against
cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is common in Hong Kong. In the early stages, there may
be no symptoms and it is almost always silent. Yet the good news is that
it can be prevented if you go for a regular cervical smear. If you have
never had a cervical smear, please make an appointment with your family
doctor, gynaecologist, the government Maternal and Child Health Centre
or other health clinics. If you are unsure whether you have had one, talk
to your doctor. Cervical smear is a simple test that can detect changes in your cervix
and allow early treatment before cancer develops. Don't wait for symptoms,
