Increasing public awareness about cervical cancer prevention and the
importance of regular cervical cancer screening is a very important process
to enhance the cervical cancer screening coverage. Through conducting
different health promotional activities and collaboration with different
parties and non-government organizations, Cervical Screening Programme
has disseminated the information to public and service providers. A wide variety of activities has been carried out by the Cervical Screening
Programme to encourage more women to have regular cervical smears. These
activities included media campaigns, distribution of health education
materials, roving exhibitions, website, sending invitation letters etc. "Killer cancer of Hong Kong women - Cervical Cancer" This TV API addresses women's myths about cervical cancer screening
for removing their barriers in receiving cervical smear. Cervical Screening Programme Booklet This booklet provides details of cervical cancer screening, including
cervical cancer prevention, the screening policy, the procedures
involved and information about service providers etc. for public's
information and references. To increase the awareness of service providers about the Cervical Screening
Programme, different activities have been conducted like sending invitation
letters to the doctors, conducting briefing sessions and experience sharing
