Cervical cancer is one of the common female cancers in Hong Kong. Every
year, hundreds of women are being diagnosed of cervical cancers and over
100 women die from cervical cancers. The median age at diagnosis for cervical
cancer is around 50's, which is comparatively younger than that of the
other common cancers like lung cancer, colorectal cancer and liver cancer.

of Cervical Cancer. Cervical cancers may affect both women's daily lives and their families;
it also poses a certain burden to the society. Women may die from cervical
cancer prematurely, or suffer from the disease or during the treatment.
Also, women need to bear the cost related to the treatment and health
care. Besides, the disease may also cause psychological stress and worries
to the women and their families. Since the women may be absent from work
during treatment, the loss of productivity will impose a significant impact
on the economy of both the individual and the society.
